Final MapRun of the season

Matthew Chessum's Valley Park MapRun concluded on Thursday evening with a great turnout at the post-run social. Simon Farrington had been topping the leaderboard for the past week but was overtaken on the night by David Currie. Paul Thwaites also cleared 26 controls to put him in third place. Emily Hopkinson was first lady. In the overall results, David's lead is now unassailable. Paul has moved ahead of Andy Snell but there's still only one point separating them so it's all still to play for...

For the final event of the season, Norman Wilson has planned a challenging event around Romsey. The combination of railway lines and rivers always make route planning that much harder! The social will be on Thursday 3rd August 2023 at the Old House at Home.

Valley Park MapRun begins

Many thanks to Paul Thwaites for organising a challenging MapRun around Townhill Park and Riverside Park. It was definitely one where you needed to take the contours into account when planning your route. At the top of the results were Paul and David Currie. Both got 26 out of 30 controls and incurred a 10 point time penalty (although only by two seconds in David's case) but Paul took top spot with 10 more points. As a consequence, Paul continues his climb up the league results, moving into joint second place with Andy Snell.

For the next round, Matthew Chessum has planned a course around Valley Park, Chandler's Ford. You have until the end of Thursday 20th July to take part with the social taking place on that day at The Cleveland Bay.
