Event 3 of the Summer Series - Mayfield has previously been used for the odd Come and Try it Event, but this is the first use of the new extended map that includes Archery Grove, the adjacent valley and a small complex urban area. Fast running in the parkland and the beech forest, intricate navigation through the marshes and woods in the valley and quick decision making in the urban area. Yellow and orange courses in the park and woodland, the light green (as long. 4.5km to 5km, and technically difficult as we can make it!) for the more experienced, makes use of the urban area.
Emit timing and Help available for beginners.

Directions:- follow the 'brown signs' for Chamberlayne Leisure Centre (150 Weston
Lane). Parking off Weston Lane at GR 448104, Post Code SO19 9SJ
(Registration and Start here) or opposite in the Leisure Centre car park.

Next Thursdays (17th Feb) club get together at the South Western Arms, will be preceded by a street-o, mass start at 7.15pm. Remember to bring a torch, pen, compass (if you think it might help) and a map bag (if wet). The map is 1:10,000 and has recently celebrated its tenth birthday!
