At the weekend, two of our club members competed in the worlds largest orienteering relay race, Jukola in Finland. Tamsin Moran ran a great first leg for ShUOC in the Venla relay finishing 6:13 down on the leaders in 181st place out of 1360 teams http://results.jukola.com/tulok…/…/j2016_ve/kilpailijat/391/

The 7 man Jukola started at 11pm as the sun set, with the first 3 legs running through the night. Tamsin, running under the 'Andy Cox' alias, awoke at 3:30am to run a strong leg 4 for ShUOC B. Robert Finch was set off in the 1000 person 'mini' mass start at 9am for the longest and final leg. Rob gained 80 places for the team to finish in 529th out of 1700 teams with a total of 12hrs54mins of racing for the 7 runners!

Hopefully a full report will be available in the next issue of SOCK.
