Thanks to all who came to Marchwood and enjoyed the event. Besides the usual diehards of night orienteering it was great to see the local families who came to experience night orienteering for the first time. Marchwood is SOC's newest map area - being so new that parts of the area were still to be completed last week! Thank you for all the positive comments on the map and the courses, and yes Jeff, I will extend the map a little further into the out of bounds industrial estate, so hopefully that will negate that particular parallel error in future! Thanks to the following club members whose help ensured the event could take place, Kevin Bracher for Condes course overprinting, and both Kevin and Bill Davidson for putting out and taking in controls, Simon Beven for getting the map printed using the "just in time " principle, forced on him by me, because of my laptop failure. Big thank you to Julia Loring and Norman Wilson for running the whole of the computing - a first for them, so well done, as Pete Davis, one of SOC's computer experts, who was expected, was attending a very joyous event, the birth of his grandchild, congratulations Pete. Well done to Tim Morgan, Jack Benham and Jamie Hicks, all of which got all the controls well within the hour. All three were running at better than 5min/km pace.
