2022 Spring League 09 - Warsash/Locks Heath

The ninth event in the 2022 Spring/Summer SOC MapRun League.

The event will be available in the app from Friday 15 July 2022. For your run to count in the League, you must submit your results by the end of Thursday 28 July 2022. After that, you can still have a go at the course but it won't count for the League. 

UK > Find Your Way > FYW South Hants > FYW SOC League 2022

Parking: In the Locks Heath Shopping Village / Waitrose Car Park. SO31 6DX.

Start & Finish: South West from the car park on Hedera Road, SO31 6SE, What3Words: backswing.prelude.sample  A 300-400m walk from the car park.

Format: 45 minutes, 34 controls. Points are 10, 20, 30, or 40 per control: 10 points for 1 to 10, 20 points for 11 to 20, 30 points for 21 to 30, and 40 points for 31 to 44, for a maximum of 760 points. There is a penalty of 10 points per minute late back or part thereof.

MapRun app: Use the new MapRun6 app. Do not use the original MapRun app as it does not understand the score format. When navigating to the event, select UK > Find Your Way >FYW South Hants > FYW SOC League 2022.  See the MapRun website for guidance on configuring your phone.

Map: The map is an Open Orienteering Stick Map; that has been scaled such that the area fills an A4 print. The scale is approximately 1:5700. For download below.

Terrain: The course is around a residential area and primarily on paths and pavements. There are some open park areas, and the paths are mostly tarmac.

Safety: There are lots of road crossings, mostly on quiet residential roads. Under 16's should be accompanied by an adult.

Social: Thursday 28 July 2022 at The Strawberry Field Tavern, SO31 6DX from 7.30pm.
