The first event in the 2022 Spring/Summer SOC MapRun League.
The event will be available in the app from Friday 25 March 2022. For your run to count in the League, you must submit your results by the end of Thursday 7 April 2022. After that, you can still have a go at the course but it won't count for the League.

Format: 45 minutes, 26 controls. Points are 10, 20, or 30 per control: 10 points for 1 - 9, 20 points for 10 to 19, and 30 points for 20 to 26, for a maximum of 500 points. There is a penalty of 10 points per minute late back or part thereof.

Map: The map is a 1:7500 OpenOrienteeringMap. There are both ‘stick’ and ‘pseudo’ maps available and the PDFs can be downloaded below. It may be beneficial to take both maps.
Terrain: The course is around the residential area and primarily on paths. There are some open and wooded areas that may be muddy. Apart from the most northerly control site, all other controls will have longer routes on paths to avoid the mud!
Safety: There are lots of road crossings. Some control sites will require you to cross the A27. Whilst not compulsory, you are advised to cross at the pedestrian crossing or one of the many crossing islands. These are situated within easy reach of the control sites. Under 16s should be accompanied by an adult. All fences are not to be climbed whether marked on the map or not – this also includes squeezing through holes in fences!
