More information:

Scrabble Score is a fun variant on a standard Score event. Competitors choose which controls they wish to go to, and at each control they will find a letter, which must be recorded. They get points for the number of controls visited within the hour, but also an opportunity to gain bonus points for the longest word they can make with the letters they have obtained.

This event is intended to cater for all. The controls are of varying technical difficulty, meaning people can choose a route which suits them. And as the optimum route to visit all controls is thought to be over 11km, there is a challenge for even the fastest orienteers.

This event does not use Emit (this also applies to the Yellow course). Instead it uses Tyvek control cards. If possible, please try to bring something to write with. Felt tips / marker pens are optimal - biros and pencils can be used but do not write as well on Tyvek as on paper.

Also available from 12:00 there are some Coaching activities suitable for Juniors, beginners and expirienced Orienteers.

Activities  include; Pace Counting, Exit Direction planning, Compass bearings & Attack Points.

If you can let Kevin know you are interested it would help with map numbers.

Parking:
