Start Lists

The November Classic remains a very popular event and some courses are heavily subscribed. This year we are also honoured to have had the event nominated as a selection race for Orienteering England . These factors have an impact on the allocation of start times and we thought you might be interested in the method we have used in case any special requests you made have not been met. We would appreciate your understanding if this is the case and hope that the following provides a satisfactory explanation. Please note that there are NO spare start slots on the BLUE course, so missing your allocated start time may result in a considerable delay to your run. Further details of the method used for start time allocation are available here.

Start lists are attached below.

Summer Series Event 7 - Telegraph Woods 02/07/2011

Firstly, many thanks to Tamsin Moran who planned the courses for this event. I think this was Tamsin's first event as Planner and coming so soon after the finish of her final school exams this was a tremendous achievement. All the comments I heard were very positive and looking at the courses I only wish I was fit enough to run myself. It is really satisfying that not only is the Summer Series attracting new-comers to orienteering but we are getting a steady flow of new officials coming through from the club membership.

Although he has considerably more experience than Tamsin, thanks are also due to Nick Bosbury for mentoring beforehand and on the day organisation. Once again, a smoothly run event with little drama and no complications. I'm sure Nick would join me in thanking his band of helpers and all who offered to help on the day.

The sun shone brightly and we were rewarded with another turnout of over 70 entrants. Thank you all for coming and I hope you all enjoyed the challenges of this highly commplicated little woodland. We have plans to extend the map to cover all the Rosebowl complex once all the building work is finished, so this may become a really top class orienteering area with vastly different terrain and challenges.
