2023 Spring/Summer League 02 - Winchester East

The 2nd event in the 2023 Spring/Summer SOC MapRun League.

The event will be available in the app from Friday 28 April. For your run to count in the League, you must submit your results by the end of Thursday 11 May. After that, you can still have a go at the course but it won't count for the League.

Location: Starting and finishing just south of The Willow Tree, Durngate Terrace, SO23 8QX

Format: 45 minutes, 29 controls. Points are 10, 20, or 30 per control: 10 points for 1 - 10, 20 points for 11 to 20, and 30 points for 21 to 30, for a maximum of 570 points. There is a penalty of 10 points per minute late back or part thereof.

Map: The map is a 1:7500 OpenOrienteeringMap.

Terrain: The course is around the residential area and primarily on paths. There are some open and wooded areas that may be muddy.

Safety: There are a couple of busy roads on the course. Please take care when crossing. Part of the course is a nature reserve - please be mindful of other users of the area. There are a number of river paths on the course, so please take care on those. Under 16's should be accompanied by an adult. All fences are not to be climbed whether marked on the map or not – this also includes squeezing though holes in fences!
